The Education Program comprises 230 sessions in five tracks. Many sessions are repeated to give you more opportunities to attend. Based on your feedback, we have re-structured our conference tracks to better serve you as you navigate our ever-evolving profession.

Tracks
Listed below are the track categories for this year's conference.
Developing People encompasses all aspects of developing the workforce to include performance, leadership and management development, talent management, and coaching. As well as working across cultural and generational borders and building teams.
Implementing Solutions covers the strategic elements of implementing learning and managing an organization including change management, performance improvement, ROI, making the business case for learning, and succession planning. Global and economic issues as well as corporate social responsibility would also come under this heading.
Learning Design & Facilitation is the mainstay of the WLP field and continues to be the most popular track with the ASTD audience. Topics include: Basics of Design, Adult Learning, Facilitation Skills, Measuring & Evaluating Learning, and Learning Transfer. New trends in the field are also covered such as Informal Learning, designing for multiple generations, and the brain & learning.
Learning Technologies, formerly called “E-Learning” brings together under one umbrella the many facets of learning using all the technology tools currently available. Some of these are: Using Games & Simulations, Blended Learning, Informal Learning, Social Media, Virtual Worlds, and Web 2.0.
Personal Development is another mainstay track which covers a wide range of topics focused on developing your personal skill-base to enhance your professional career. Expanded offerings include the Career Builders Series on networking, interviewing, and resume writing. Other topics include: Consulting Skills, Leadership Skills, Managing Stress, Business Acumen, and Coaching.

CASE STUDY
A Case Study is a first-person account of a project, initiative, or program from its inception to the end result.
CORE TOPIC
Core Topics are those that are the nuts and bolts of the Workplace Learning and Performance field. These are the topics that make up the backbone of the field and speak to the new as well as the seasoned practitioner who wants a refresher or has changed roles.
EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING
These are sessions which substantially depart from the lecture/presentation model and use creative ways to incorporate hands-on learning both as a topic and by modeling the concept being presented in the session.
GLOBAL FOCUS
These sessions includes topics which are relevant to attendees working in multinational organizations as well as international participants and cite a broad range of examples from countries and regions around the world.
INNOVATION/TREND
Session topics highlight an innovation or trend in an applied way—that is, showing how these trends and outlooks will likely have an effect on those who work in the field.
RESEARCH
Topics are based on research studies by ASTD as well as other organizations.
