New for 2010

Solution Evolution

You have questions, challenges, issues—and ideas—bring them all to Solution Evolution. Your guide will facilitate the discussion responding to your questions and challenges from a base of expertise in the specific topic and weaving in everyone’s ideas to help you build solutions and anchor your learning. You'll meet in target audience groups and facilitators will post tangible solutions and ideas to the ASTD National LinkedIn subgroup for Solution Evolution. These solutions will be available for all to use during and after the conference.

Solution Evolution will be held in Expo on Tuesday, May 18 from 12:30-1:30 P.M.

You can view the discussion on LinkedIn and either login or join LinkedIn. Click ASTD National and then sub-groups at the top. Then choose the Solution Evolution group. There will be a thread for each discussion posted by the discussion facilitator.

Target Audience Discussion Groups:

Fresh Voices

ASTD is pleased to welcome this group of speakers, participating in the conference for the first time.

New Program Series

Several new session series have been created for 2010 to fill specific needs:

  • Career Builders are sessions that support you in developing your personal career path and include sessions on interviewing, resume writing, networking, and more.
  • The Consultants Series are sessions focused on content that is useful for those of you who either are independent consultants or are thinking of starting your own business as a consultant.
  • The Power Learning Series brings together four topics that will take your design and delivery skills to a new level: using case studies, engaging the learner, going beyond PowerPoint, and coaching Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

In addition, be sure to check out the Learning Transfer Guaranteed series which was debuted at ASTD 2009 and is back with updated content.

Paperless Session Handouts

ASTD is discontinuing the use of printed handouts for conference sessions* and will provide materials as a download from a dedicated web page at www.astd.org/paperless.

ASTD introduced this new policy at TechKnowledge® 2010 to great success. Many industry-leading and socially responsible organizations that have adopted similar policies for their conferences have found this change to be very positive, in terms of reducing waste and as a service to society.

*Preconference Workshops will continue to have printed handouts.
