FAQs

How will I access the Virtual Conference?

Online registration for the ASTD 2010 International Conference and Exposition Virtual Conference is available through June 19. Once you register, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with information about how you will access the conference.

How do I attend the virtual conference?

First, you need to purchase the Virtual Conference. Then, you’ll recieve an email with information to access the Virtual Conference platform to view more than 50 pre-recorded sessions. And, for the first two weeks (May 26 - June 11), there will also be a live webcasts session each day for you to join, learn, and interact with presenters and other attendees. The live orientation session will happen on May 26 at 2pm EST. You will have full access to recorded sessions and videos through July 10, 2010.

Will my computer work for the Virtual Conference?

Before purchasing the Virtual Conference, please test your computer(s) for WebEx compatibility (the live webcast component) by clicking this link and following the instructions. You must run this test on every computer that you will use to access the conference (i.e. both your work and home computer).

How long is the Virtual Conference?

The Virtual Conference access begins on May 26 and continues through July 10, but daily live webcast sessions happen between May 26 and June 11. These sessions will also be archived for viewing after they happen.

Will the Virtual Conference be archived?

Yes! Videos and recorded sessions will be archived and available for repeated viewings as many times as you like for thirty days.

What if I'm already attending the conference?

After a successful first launch of the 2009 International Virtual Conference, ASTD is no longer offering free access to the Virtual Conference. Attendees may purchase separate access to the Virtual Conference, and may also purchase session audio recordings onsite in Chicago. Please check your Program Guide for information about audio recordings.

What if I have more questions?

For any questions you may have about the Virtual Conference, please email Anthony Allen, Director of Digital Media for ASTD at virtualconference@astd.org.
